About Us
Why Pickv?
Earlier this year, following a breakup, I wondered how I was ever going to meet someone that I connect with. I knew that there had to be a better way to find someone than the traditional dating sites that were already out there. Tired of reading profiles of guys who all said that they were "funny," I wanted to know exactly what kind of funny. I wanted to know if he could sit through the quirky little movie "Me and You and Everyone We Know" and laugh until snot came out of his nose. The best thing that came out of that breakup was that the idea for this site was born. I wanted to create a site where users could easily find someone to connect with based off of their favorites. Everyday we see people carry around their music players and wear their headphones; we listen to so much music and consume so many movies and pieces of literature, that our favorites of these become a bit of our personality dna of sorts. So, instead of having to sift through profiles full of exaggerated "About Me" sections, and having to answer tons of personality questions, I wanted to create a different kind of site - a site that was easy and quick to use, where I didn't have to write much, answer much, or read much, and where people with similar favorites were simple to spot and connect with. I hope that Pickv helps you find someone!
